Mixed experience for my coeliac child
National Forest Adventure Farm的点评
点评：We visited here for the North Pole Adventure for the first time and had a mixed experience.
There were lovely points to the day, the main ones being:
- value, though not a cheap Christmas experience you could easily spend a full day enjoying the remainder of the site including a large soft play that our daughter really enjoyed.
- staff were friendly and enthusiastic throughout
- nicely paced, lots of different activities so our daughter didn't get too bored at each stage.
- A gluten free gingerbread was provided for the gingerbread activity which was a huge relief!
- the cafe has GF options and staff there did seem to be aware of cross contamination.
- Santa himself was really lovely and put a smile back on my daughters face. She said she knew he was real because of his moustache and boots matched when we saw him in Lapland in March. :)
However we felt let down by the following:
- My daughter is coeliac and her first experience with a food related activity (the sweet shop) left her very upset. There were no sweets she could have as all had a "May Contain gluten" warning on the label. She got very upset at this.
- staff in the hotel chocolate stand had little knowledge of allergens.
- although the gingerbread activity provided a GF alternative, the label carried limited ingredient information (which I'm not sure is even legal) and again one of the toppings contained gluten with no alternative. This upset her further and it did affect her ability to engage with the next few activities as she felt so disappointed and sad.
