Malfunctioning Ebikes

点评：My friend and I rented ebikes from Crystal River Outfitters to ride the Heritage Trail. Staff were friendly and helpful in setting us up on bikes. The trail was mostly flat so we didn't discover that PA did not work beyond PA1 until we hit a hilly area and moved into PA2. A very minor change in power resulted. Then we came to a more significant hill and while I don't like to use PA3 (I have owned 2 ebikes and I know what they are supposed to do at PA3), I put mine into PA3. No discernable change. My ebike would have SPED me up that hill! These did so little, we had to walk our (heavy) bikes up. We even switched bikes to confirm malfunction. We ended up turning around. When we returned and asked to speak to the manager, he took one of our bikes for a spin and returned saying it worked fine. He asked if we had the bikes in lowest gear going up the hill. While we had both shifted into lower gears, neither was aware we had to shift to the lowest. I also reminded him I ride ebikes all the time and never do that before going into PA3. He insisted you had to be in lowest gear for PA3 to work. We said no one told us that. He totally denied our experience with the bikes and shrugged it off. We were not offered any discount. Again, I know ebikes. These did not work!
