Garden visit very expensive compared to other gardens

点评：We visited this garden because it was labelled as a remarkable garden and we love visiting great gardens. We knew that the garden didn't have the main chateau (this burned down in the 1940s) and we weren't expecting a Villandry or Chenonceau experience.
The bones of the garden were good, but it lacked the care and attention to detail that I would expect of an advertised garden of this kind. In the formal gardens the edges needed cutting, there were gaps where plants should have been and dead plants that needed removing. The husbandry didn't suit the formality of the layout.
Most effort appeared to be put in the vegetable garden, which had a large variety of species and you could sample the produce.
We didn't linger long, deciding not to stay for the wine tasting. There wasn't enough wow or interest to keep us here.
