Komodo National Park的点评
点评：We visited from a cruise ship, arriving by Tender and being met by local guides, who had grown up on the other side of the island.
This is a managed part of the island, with raised boardwalks for visitors, from which one hopes to see Komodo dragons.
Our guide was so informative and knowledgeable, not just about the dragons but about living in the same environment as them, their conservation etc; which was backed up by an interesting exhibition at the visitor centre about the flora and fauna of the island, personal histories of the rangers and a couple of skeletons of Komodo dragons, giving us an idea of the difference in size between male and female.
We did see a few dragons and the sheer size and appearance of them, even if you think you are aware, is surprising. If you are hoping for photos, then I do suggest a long lens as there is no element of them being planted in a good photo opportunity spot.
The visitor centre has toilets, a shop (didn't visit) and quite a number of locals outside with stalls selling Komodo themed souvenirs - we didn't buy any and I am not entirely certain that their provenance is local, but it is a personal choice.
