And far exceeded our expectations.
From our first encounter with Taffie, scheduling, making payment, yes Uganda is a cash society, no need to be concerned, Taffie is honest and forthright. We were a party of 4.

Taffie our safari guide, and her side kick Jonathan are so much more than mere navigators.
Taffie is personable, humor was a big part of our days, she is a storyteller, a conservationist, and a wildlife whisperer. From the moment we stepped into her open-roof 4x4 vehicle, we knew we were in capable hands. Not to leave out our personal safety was in her care as well.
Emphasis here on "OBEY your guide, this will save your life".
Taffie's eyes light up when she spots baboons, giraffes, and elephants. She shares their family dynamics, their gentle demeanor, in addition to taking them seriously, they are a mighty force when you are in their way.
One morning we were to take a short walk down to a pier to have breakfast on the Nile River, the moment we opened our door to leave our hut, Taffie was there to greet us, she told us to get into the vehicle immediately, we were more interested in the walk. Taffie insisted, we did as we were told, as she is telling us an elephant had been spotted on the resort property. Taffie maneuvered the vehicle a short distance to head towards the pier, immediately we saw the very large elephant taking only 4 steps through the bamboo to arrive at the door of our hut. I was relieved Taffie had picked us up. Beautiful to watch, such a grand creature so close, but inside a vehicle moving another direction, much better.
Taffie's intuition lead us to a couple female lions on the hunt. She narrates their hierarchy, their territorial battles, and she knew there would be a male lion nearby, she kept an eye open.
Taffie, was on the hunt for finding the male as well, sure enough, once she found him, this was spectacular, no more than 20 feet from our vehicle, we all witnessed the male watching, in a position to pounce, on a tourist from another caravan, the foolish tourist hopped out to chat with someone in another vehicle. Everyone was yelling at him to get back into the vehicle. Yes the tourist is fine...what an idiot.
Obey your tour guide! They will save your life.
Taffie, points out the elegant giraffes, the sizes, coloring and unique patterns, sharing, we can't help but fall in love with these gentle skyscrapers.
Murchison Falls: As we approach the roaring cascade, we can feel the power in the ground we are walking on.
This is the most powerful water fall in the world. Absolutley unforgettable.

On our boat ride on the Nile, we were headed back towards the Murchison Falls we see so many hippos. crocodiles, and elephants You will experience and truly feel a connection to this wild natural world.
Taffie isn’t just a guide; she is a bridge between humans and nature. Her love for preserving Uganda’s wildlife is contagious and heartfelt, and we leave Murchison Falls National Park with gratitude in our hearts.

We left Uganda feeling as though we had made lifelong friends with a sense of family.
We plan to return to Uganda in 2 years and the only tour guide we will call will be Taffie.
