点评：What a delightful way to spend 30 minutes discovering the fascinating history of Winter Garden, Florida!
We arrived right at 11 AM on a Saturday, just as the museum opened, and were greeted by an incredibly sweet, friendly, and helpful woman who made our visit especially enjoyable. Her enthusiasm and genuine love for sharing the past brought a wonderful warmth to our experience.
One of our favorite surprises was the scavenger hunt! Visitors are encouraged to search for various items throughout the museum, and those who complete the challenge receive a little sticker with an uplifting message. What a clever way to make history interactive and enjoyable for kids of ALL ages, including us!
The exhibits provide an intriguing look at Winter Garden’s history, particularly the citrus industry that once helped the community flourish. We learned about the devastating freezes that transformed the local economy, the challenges of the Great Depression, and how the community experienced periods of growth, hardship, and eventual revitalization.
The historical photographs, memorabilia, and artifacts help tell the story of a community that has weathered tremendous change.
And here’s the icing on the cake: Admission is completely FREE!
Although this is a relatively small museum, it offers a worthwhile glimpse into the area’s rich heritage. Plan on approximately 30 minutes to enjoy the exhibits and perhaps participate in the scavenger hunt.
