点评:Doane Valley Campground at the State Park.
Nice trees. Damn Flies! June 24-25... was supposed to be until the 26th, but we left the morning of the 25th. Flies! little ones, bigger ones, and horse or deer flies that bite. Swarms. The little ones in your eyes, your nose, everywhere, annoying, but not the ones that bite - and none seem affected by DEET and the other repellant we had.
It wasn't just us, virtually everyone we encountered was swinging their arms around like the robot in Lost in Space trying to keep them away. Awful. Try some other month. Or come prepared with a hat with netting - and don't leave any exposed skin. Seriously.
The last straw, however, was the "Plague Warning" sign - about, evidently Bubonic Plague infecting the area, so don't bring your dogs, and, hey, if you do get sick, it's curable if you get treatment in time. So said the sign - not at the entry to the park, but just posted where we didn't notice it at first.
So we packed up the first morning and left. Nice Place - except for the files and plague.
