点评：We had done an amazing road trip to the Keys by rental car a couple years back! We made a special stop on Big Pine to see the beautiful endangered Key Deer! Key Deer are a must see when in the Keys. Very unique deer that can be found in the area to nature watch. While we were traveling to Key West and decided to stop and visit the National Key Deer Refuge. Our family loved this place. Great place to learn about the natural history and wildlife of the Florida Keys. We learned so much from the workers here about the smallest deer in North America. Stopped by the National Key Deer Refuge to find out and learn more about the Key Deer 🦌 and where to see them. Maximum height of less than 36 inches. National Key Deer Refuge Information Center is very informative. This is such a lovely place. Very informative. Volunteers are very pleasant to speak with and give the right instructions for you to find and watch the Key deer! It’s Free to enjoy visiting the nature center but you can do donations to help in the conservation of the Keys! Restrooms are well maintained. Gave us a map to direct us to locate the Key deer population. I like nature so this was a good place for my family and me. I saw a lot of the endangered Key Deer. And several varieties of birds. And a crossing turtle too! It's good to have a place where all the animals are protected and in their natural habitat! The Key Deer Refuge Visitor Center is now the new Florida Keys Wildlife Refuges Nature Center located at 30587 Overseas Highway.
