Mostly OK but nothing overwhelming.
Reserva Conchal Golf Course的点评
点评：Played two rounds. Green fees $200 per player. Range is a muni- quality range. But included so at least you get to loosen up. Overall course was like a 7/10 from a layout/conditions/experience standpoint. Felt like an average daily fee course you would play in Florida.
Tees are small and a little uneven. Fairways were Bermuda that was cut too long and with Bermuda greens made stopping balls onto mostly elevated firm greens challenging at times. Bermuda rough is thin and inconsistent and the ball would often sit way down. Greens well maintained but found speed inconsistent with quite variable turf quality.
I liked the layout. We played the blue tees at 6500 yards. Par 71 with 5 par 3’s. Lots of hazards. Lots of elevation change. The par 5’s all are predominately right to left holes. The par 4’s, other than the opening hole, are mostly uphill approach shots at 400-430 yds so not tons of variability. I liked the par 3’s best. Short to medium length for the most part with small targets but bail out options.
Staff was mediocre. We didn’t see a player host on the course on day 1 to help with slow play. Pro staff was mostly “monitoring”. They seemed pretty tight. We were staying on the course and one evening went out and messed around on a few holes. The GM received reports from residents and they tracked us down using security cameras to collect a $300 fine with threatened action if we didn’t pay. No signs that warn of this but obviously something we know isn’t strictly appropriate. A warning would have been nice instead. We didn’t know how strict they were about this and wouldn’t have done it again. So this move is not recommended. :)
In the end, you are playing relatively pricey but decent enough, low-ish course condition, low-ish amenity golf in central america.
