Good performance, poor diction
Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe的点评
点评：I just saw Once on this Island and normally enjoy WCBT's productions. But, I, along with a lot of friends (who were also there) had the same comment. Most of us could not understand the words to any song when sung by the chorus or for that matter, even by more than one person. At first we thought their Mikes were blurring the sound, but after a few songs, we recognized it was the poor diction. Fortunately, the script was easy to follow. It takes a lot of work to put on a large production but the play is ruined when we can't figure out the words being sung.
On the other hand, the young girl (lead) was amazing, her parents and young male lover, held it all together. The dancers were fun to watch but hard to understand.
