点评:What an absolutely relaxing way to travel along the coastline from Victor Harbor to Goolwa! Starting from either end, walk thru train station before your adventure starts (lots of railway history, learn why it is called the “cockle train”), purchase your ticket, have it stamped by conductor Gayle (who was fabulous and very helpful!!) en-route! With a quick stop at Port Elliot (& perhaps also at Middleton).
Fresh air with open windows (keep your extremities within the cabin) with wind blowing in your face and hair. You pass at the back of houses, semi rural properties with animals in their back yards and arrive at Goolwa station. Within sight of this station you can visit local distillery, if timed right, take a fabulous Coorong half day cruise or walk 5 min up the pine tree road to the township which has lovely old buildings!
Please note, I was expecting steam engine one way. That was my only disappointment. It only runs on specific days throughout the year, due to lack of qualified steam train drivers (any retired train drivers out there?!)
