点评:A very interesting small museum in a very atmospheric historical location just down the road from the equally atmospheric Blosville temporary cemetery site. Do stop there. The museum is packed full of amazing exhibits of life at General Collin’s headquarters.. demonstrating the communications, stores, supplies and of course planning, in the Normandy theatre of battle during World War Two.
The building has not been over worked, or on the surface, over renovated which adds so much to the atmosphere and feeling that Eisenhower, Bradley and Co only left yesterday. Original wall coverings, furniture, creaky wooden floors and missing plasterwork. I grudgingly dropped one star only because if you aren’t fully ‘excited’ about the prospect of being in this historical place, you might not feel fully satisfied. But do visit.. and also buy a coffee and something from the shop.. as money will no doubt help the museum. Overall, well worth a visit.
