点评:Sunday 4th May we took the free shuttle bus from the Port Terminal to downtown Kobe.
We walked the length of this shopping street in the heart of the City. This bustling and vibrant street with it's arched glass roof stretches along for roughly 1.2 kilometres and it is home to approximately 300 stores along the street.
Both sides of this block paved street are lined with a wide variety of shops and other businesses. This included clothing stores, pharmacies, electronic goods, souvenirs fruit and vegetables and so much more.
There was also a plethora of restaurants and eateries, there is no chance of a visitor ever being hungry here.
We even saw a store selling kittens, they appeared to be well cared for.
The street was illuminated by typical decorated Japanese shop fronts and signs, some were an attraction in their own right. Light was also provided by some decorative street lamps.
Hanging from the roof in one section was a rather large clock surrounded by ten bells.
Along the paved street there were a number of interesting plaques inserted into the brickwork.
