点评：We enjoyed this hike with the family that hosted and fellow visitors - there was a lengthy discussion before we left about the history of the area that I enjoyed with background about the settlement that thrived for hundreds of years before the island leadership changed and a catastrophic flood inundated crop fields. A beautiful preserve and people navigating the challenges of our current times remains and I appreciated the introduction.
To other visitors - this is a moderately challenging hike - stream crossings without a bridge or sure footing, it could be very muddy, you'll climb over and under fallen trees, see sacred sites and nature includes mosquitoes. Take a walking stick and the hand of your guide as offered. If you're looking for an easy waterfall hike where you're catered to look elsewhere. I hope you take the chance, climb over the tree trunks and swim in the cool pool below the falls.
To the hosts - you're planting seeds and some visitors are eager to carry a message and for a deeper connection that's implied in the greeting ceremony. I'd venture a guest that it's challenging to open your heart and home to so many people and potential disappointments, but I hope you leave enough trail heads open for kindred spirits to walk as they are able and at the end of the day explore new ways of connecting.
