Fantastic museum detailing the history of Broome
Broome Historical Museum的点评
点评：The museum is small but packs in so many exhibits. Entry is very reasonable, and the volunteers are very friendly and welcoming.
There is a large section on the pearling history, including the different nationalities and racist policies involved. The exhibits include an old diving suit, and an old hyperbaric chamber. It flows neatly into an exhibit of modern diversity of the town.
One of the new exhibits is about the Aboriginal groups in the region, which is very well laid out and includes a digital display of many photos.
There is history about the WWII bombing, the people involved, memorabilia from Dutch refugees, and the planes and radio systems. There is also information about life in Broome over the years, arrival of technology etc.
Another building includes dinosaur footprints, the horse racing, and Country Womens Association. There is also a room to watch a number of historical films, which is air-conditioned and a nice spot to rest!
The museum kindly offers a "pass out" if you don't get to see everything on your visit, which I think is more than generous.
