点评:If you’re interested, worth it. It’s a very small museum located in the inner Melbourne suburb of St. Kilda in a completely unassuming location, which makes it somewhat hard to find – for good reason. The museum covers the history of the Jewish population in Australia, from the penal colony times through WWII to today. Astute observers will notice the differences and similarities between the Australian, British, and American diasporas, especially during the time period around the War. One thing I found particularly interesting was a simple yet clear set of explanations on one wall that variously cover the evolution of letters in related languages, the relationships and topics covered in various religious texts, classifications of the prophets, and Abraham’s family tree. Since the museum is small, you only need about 30 minutes to cover it, maybe 45 if you want to do a deep dive.
