Overpriced, Underwhelming and Poorly Run
奥克兰博物馆的点评
点评：I’ve got to say, I was pretty let down by this museum. The staff came across as unprofessional and uninterested. I dealt with four different people and not one of them cracked a smile. One young staff member was even glued to her phone while half talking to me, barely making eye contact, not exactly welcoming.
The museum itself is pretty small with a limited collection, and a lot of areas were closed off, which cut the visit short. The layout doesn’t help either, it’s confusing, with dead ends everywhere and a fair bit of backtracking needed. Some of the rooms are tiny with only one way in and out, and they’re awkwardly placed, which makes the flow of the visit frustrating.
The prices are another sore point. Charging $10.50 for a pie and $30 for a small pizza with hardly any toppings is daylight robbery. The gift shop is no better, I saw a greenstone piece priced at $5,000 that didn’t look anywhere near worth it.
On top of that, there are hidden extras everywhere, $6 for a movie, $20 for a tour, and a $500 membership push at the door. Honestly, the place isn’t even worth the $32 entry fee.
