Rushed and poor experience wine tasting. Would not reccomend.

点评：Honestly so disappointed with our experience. We go to quite a few wineries and have had our share of the good, the bad and the ugly. For such a prestigious and well known winery we were expecting probably a bit too much and such it was a huge let down. Firstly, it insanely busy, which although annoying we can deal with. We booked the only tasting experience which was the guided tasting for $22 each for 30 minutes.
When we got there we arrived early like it said to do so on the booking, the previous group ran late so we only ended up having a maybe a 15/20 minute session to try 5 wines. The tasting room was a long open room with which we shared with a large group of 6 or 7 and their 2 or 3 photographers. They didn't care for the wine and weren't listening to the poor host who was trying to talk through the wines.
The room was also very loud as the lunch area was directly outside and the entrance with all the visitors was right next to the room too. the mesh wall didn't do much to keep the noisy out so on top of that we couldn't hear the host well anyway.
The actual tasting had a single glass where the lovely host poured the wine, down the line of people, said a few things about it, then we tasted and by then she had started pouring the next one for the top of the line who "sculled/shotted it" to keep up. The whole experience was rushed, there were too many people in the room to ask any meaningful questions or just time to think or talk about the wine, let alone let it warm up for the flavours to come through.
The wine was also disappointing. We went to 9 other wineries over the week we were in the Yarra Valley and this was by far the lowest ranking one for everyone in our group.
The only redeeming factor was that the gardens are nice. We did not stay for lunch - too loud, busy and rushed in feeling.
Honestly felt like a hugely commercialised, tourist trap and we fell right in.
Would not go back.
