Elephant Sanctuary Hartbeesport Dam的点评
点评：We went to the elephant sanctuary as a couples experience. We have been talking about doing this for many years, and we were not disappointed
The Ranger James was exceptionally knowledgeable and was extremely enthusiastic about the animals.
The animals were rescued from a culling at Kruger national park. As the sanctuary is only small they were only able to take 12 animals. The elephants are wild but trained to expect certain interactions at various parts of the tour. The elephants are only brought into the pens when visitors arrive, otherwise they roam free
The first part of the tour is feeding the elephants but no touching.
The second part of the tour is a walk with the elephants. The keepers walk between you and the elephants, but the elephants are free
The thirds part of the tour is touching and interaction. The elephants are used to being touched on certain parts of their body such as feet, trunks, belly and bottom. The female we were with very gently pushed me into the correct position for the interaction, which made me feel as though she was comfortable with us being there.
The elephants then accompanied us back to the starting point where there is a small shop selling T shirts, mugs, soft toys and drinks.
I can honestly say that this was one of the most remarkable experiences of my life and I would recommend it to anyone
