点评:As a Tigers fan who lives in New England, I always enjoy getting out to Detroit to cheer the Tigers on in their home park. This was the third trip I have made to Comerica Park, but the first in nine years. As much I love being surrounded by Tigers fans, I didn't enjoy parts of my experience at Comerica.
First of all, two of the three games we went to were day games. As someone who is sensitive to the sun, it's too bad Comerica doesn't have more seats available in the shade.
Secondly, the bag policy is ridiculous. When I go to baseball games in NY or the US Open tennis tournament, I can bring in a tote bag with my scorebook, snacks and an unopened water bottle. Comerica Park prohibits virtually all bags, and on the third day in a row that I went to a game a security supervisor gave me a hard time for having my scorebook, pen and glass case in a clear plastic bag, as is permitted according to park guidelines.
Third, the food options are desultory, especially compared to Citi-Field in New York. The ice cream stand in the park has good local ice cream, though.
Finally, the incessant loud noise from the sound system is overdone. We don't need to be told to make noise when the opposing team is batting in the second inning of a 1-0 game. I could basically only talk to my wife when the noise wasn't blaring from the speakers. A fan next to me told me his wife has stopped coming to games because of the noise. He joked that if the Tigers offered a 15-game no-noise season ticket package, he would sign up for it right away.
