Excellent Hosts at Historic Winery

点评：Tyrrell’s offers an excellent introduction to the history of grape growing and winemaking in the HV. An ideal spot to perhaps start your tours and get grounded.
While of course well-known, all the staff are immensely helpful, friendly, and ready to dive deep if asked. I was led through a lengthy professional tasting, but impressed with how all the other guests were treated as well (novice and more knowledgeable alike).
The wines are exquisite, and not just the aged expressions of Semillon for which they a re known. (It’s worth going through a sampling of different iterations, from the “entry-level” through to Vat 1.)
Zachary was a font of information, no matter how much we asked. :-)
Highly recommended. Don’t skip this winery thinking they are “one of the biggies”. They are a member of the First Families of Wines for a reason, and the history is deep.
