点评:A spectacular museum... We were driving a bit of the Blues Highway, from Greenville to Memphis... and stopped at the museum. Its located in the old Clarksdale Freight station... which gives it lots of space. The exhibits are highly professional, highlighting individuals, including where they grew up, their lives and their music. The core message it that the Delta Blues were developed in part because of isolation. The musicians were poor and not able to travel, in a time with limited outside information, and few would travel to the cotton picking delta of the Mississippi... and tells that story well. Larger exhibits include Muddy Water's cabin, and a recreation of Lomax's Ford, equipped with recording equipment. Throughout are photos, letters and references from modern artists commenting on the influence that the blues and the blues artists had on them.
