点评:Tin Cup, though on the register of historic places, is actually more of a summer home village with only one seasonal cafe and a small bar. It is easily reached in a highway vehicle if you don't plan to explore any of the side trails. The trails are rough and require four wheel drive or a UTV, there is no camping in the area due to overuse since 2017, but Cumberland pass is accessible in a street vehicle if you drive slowly. The area is dotted with private mining claims, so getting off the main road is not easy. The local cemetery is about the only thing of notable historic value and it is not far from town, but is on a rough road. The name may sound romantic, but Tin Cup is now mostly private land and summer homes and the locals dislike speeding vehicles of any sort. There's also almost no place to park on the narrow road and crowds of UTVs are normal during the summer. We drove over Cumberland Pass in our Subaru on our way to Cottonwood Pass, so renting a UTV isn't at all necessary. There are, however, many miles of UTV trails around nearby Taylor Park for those who must zoom along at speed. I recommend seeing Tin Cup in late September when the aspens have turned gold. There will not be as many people then, either.
