Bfly Laval的点评
点评：My young relatives love butterflies. BFLY Laval did not disappoint. There was a significant number of butterflies flying freely in three or four domed rooms from three different areas of the world (including Canada) to keep them entertained. One of them really wanted to see a monarque bleu and there were plenty. There are a few info placards about the butterflies, though not a significant amount of information. The kids didn't mind, since the butterflies were beautiful and they were a bit young to care about the details. They were happy to carry around the spongy "flower" supplied to attract butterflies.
The film at the start was not of interest to the kids (another friend warned me about that: "le film est plate"), and we stuck around to watch it for about two minutes. The idea behind the film to have butterfly characters encourage certain personality traits was a good one; I guess the kids weren't into it, and I admit the film didn't really educate about the butterflies themselves. A short film about the growth of the butterfly might've been more interesting to them.
Regarding time spent: my friend and his young kids had a great time and spent 30 min. We took up the full hour. Really depends on your preferences.
Cost-wise: I've seen a lot of criticism on this site on the cost for any of the three BFLY installations. I wholly disagree. Spending 14$ each for one hour is in my view fair, given the care and feeding of the butterflies, the personnel, etc. (Note: we did not spend to go to the salle des miroirs or the inflatable play area.)
I definitely recommend BFLY Laval to anyone who would enjoy butterflies, not just those who are with young kids.
