点评：Wow, what a place this is! Set in probably one of THE most affluent estates in the UK and over a thousand odd acres this place must be seen to be believed. As
soon as approached via a huge private security and driveway you could smell the money. Set amongst rolling heath land and mature trees the 3 x 9’s are a
delight to play. The clubhouse is stunning, full of history and the locker room had all number of free toiletries a man could need including sun cream, mouth wash, deodorant and much more. The practice range was a short drive away from the course which I personally don’t like and on this occasion didn’t try.
We played the red and blue course, however be warned come inappropriately dressed and you’ll find yourself having to purchase a pair of white socks from the pro shop, as one of our party did. I suppose he can look back and laugh that he has a nice memento (socks with SGH logo) but I do find this sort of thing in 2025 a tad sad I’m all for tradition and would be first to ensure dress standard’s are kept high BUT having to ensure your socks are white if short is in a word ridiculous, more to the point knee length socks can be any colour of the rainbow, go figure? That aside the starter was very friendly and set us on our way with one of the most beautiful first holes I’ve ever played. The tee shot can be daunting as you need a good drive up a sweeping steep fairway, with bunkers and tall trees left and right. Add to this a fair number of other golfers hanging around to witness that often terrifying (well for us amateur golfers) moment off the first. There were some stunning holes and if I’m being super lucky I’d say a couple of meh holes in particular the 11th on Blue Course, a short par 3 with trouble all round. Definitely worth a visit. I’d also say the club sandwich is right up there with the best I’ve tried.
