Extremely disappointing
Crandon Beach的点评
点评：I visited Crandon Beach in Key Biscayne expecting a beautiful and relaxing day by the ocean, but I left feeling completely let down. This beach simply did not live up to its reputation.
The first thing I noticed was the overwhelming amount of seaweed. It was everywhere — piled up along the shore and floating all throughout the shallow water. It made it nearly impossible to enjoy the ocean. The smell was bad, and it gave the entire beach a dirty, uncared-for feeling. I understand that seaweed can be seasonal or weather-related, but it clearly hadn’t been cleaned up or maintained in days.
Aside from the seaweed, the beach itself was just dirty. There was trash scattered around — food wrappers, empty bottles, and bits of plastic here and there. It made the area feel neglected and unattractive. For a beach in such a well-known area like Key Biscayne, I was expecting something much cleaner and better maintained. It honestly felt more like a forgotten city lot than a major public beach.
Another big letdown was the water. Based on the photos and reviews I’d seen online, I was expecting shallow, calm, clear water with sandbars you could walk out on. That wasn’t the case at all. The water was murky and filled with seaweed, with no sandbars or special features in sight. I didn’t even feel comfortable getting in. It looked nothing like the peaceful, clear beach it’s made out to be in pictures.
To be fair, the general park area does have nice facilities — there are shaded spots, palm trees, and picnic tables, which might be good for families who just want a green space to hang out. But if you’re coming for the beach experience itself, you’re going to be disappointed. It’s just not worth it when there are so many better beaches nearby in Miami.
Overall, Crandon Beach was a major letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it unless serious improvements are made to the cleanliness of both the water and the sand. I give it 1 star, and I won’t be coming back.
