Best Alentejo wine and tapas experience!

点评：Fantastic experience from the very start! During booking on the website, Lucia was super quick to reply and answer questions that we had. The winery is very easy to get to with a beautiful paved entrance. The place is even prettier than the website photos. Lucia and the rest of the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Lucia was a pleasant and informative tour guide and we were impressed with the entire facility that has a wonderful blend of old world techniques such as the marble tanks mixed with new ideas like the orange wine.
For our wine and tapas tasting, Lucia took us to their gorgeous reception facility with a distinctive old world feel. While it was chilly and raining that day, the large room was toasty warm and had a huge fireplace to sit by. The tapas more than exceeded our expectations! They were not just a small plate of charcuterie like most wineries serve, but instead were large portions of Alentejo delights prepared fresh and served by their lovely chef. Lucia guided us through which tapas paired best with each of the four wines we sampled. The Alentejo wine samples were generous and delicious (we bought four bottles!) I cannot say enough about Lucia’s friendly and professional spirit throughout our visit. During our tasting, she knew how to time her explanation of the food/wine pairings and then disappear into the kitchen to give us ample time to enjoy them without “hovering” over us uncomfortably as has happened to us at other wineries. This was such a relaxing experience that we didn’t want to leave right away so we sat by the fire with a glass of wine and simply enjoyed what we now rate as the best winery we have visited…..and will return for another tapas and wine experience!
