点评:We were traveling to Louisville Kentucky and this was a short detour to visit the Fort Knox area and to the George Patton Museum. The parking lot is next to the historical WWII barracks from the early 1940s, we enjoyed the visit there. The barracks gave us a glimpse to the past and what living there would be like.
There were also 3 or 4 tanks on display on the pads outside near the main entrance. Seems like maybe there used to be more in the past. We enjoyed learning more about General Patton's life, and his fatal car crash. The Cadillac was restored and on display. Quite a bit of military vehicles and Army helicopter were present as well.
The front area showed the history of ROTC. During our visit, there was a group of young ROTC folks there taking in the displays. While General Patton was a controversial figure, we still found the time spent here enjoyable.
Note that the museum was very very cold when we visited in May.
