Please don't feed the horses

点评：As the guardian of 2 of the horses on the meadow I beg you please do not feed any of the horses there. There are several really good reasons for this:
1.) Feeding them encourages them to see humans as potential sources of food and will encourage them to harass humans who are using the space.
2.) If you feed them, you don't know how many other people might be feeding them in that same day, and it is the horses who are higher in the pecking order who will get the food - those horses might then be in danger of getting colic or laminitis - both of which are very dangerous issues for horses.
3.) Some of the horses have specific intolerances (one even has an intolerance to non-organic carrots!) and if they are fed these things they will have negative reactions. Their guardians know about their intolerances and feed them appropriately.
The horses are not in need of feeding - they have ample grass and if the weather is bad we put out large bales of hay.
You will be able to hang out with the horses much more tranquilly, if you don't take food with you - they love being scratched, stroked, talked to, sung to, etc.
