Scenic cliff railway, but not quite ‘on track’ with all aspects.
Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway的点评
点评:We had a ride on the Cliff Railway in both directions, firstly going down to Lynmouth late afternoon, then back up to Lynton later on. Views going down were lovely and very scenic. Some inconsiderate people impacted somewhat on our visit. We did the second journey around 5:40pm when it was dark and during their ‘Festival of Light’. Nice as the colourful lights were, I felt it was a bit lacklustre and more lights could have been included to have made it more special. There was no extra charge for this, so a bit of a bonus I suppose. I did think the cost was a little pricey at £3.75 per adult each way for the funicular, so £15 in total when the ride lasts less than two minutes each way. No option for a cheaper return fare, which I felt would be fairer e.g. £6 per adult. Shame about the lack of toilets. Apparently there were public ones nearby, but these didn’t appear to be open when the railway was open later for this event. Staff we encountered were friendly, and it was an interesting experience being on a water-powered funicular.
