点评:Sadly I feel I need to leave a bad review as the service I received on my recent visit was so poor. I call into the centre quite frequently en-route to visit my daughter in Oxford. On this occasion I found a pretty silver and mother-of-pearl collar necklace which I thought would make a nice Christmas present for her, £80 so quite pricey but I decided to buy it. We had some difficulty in working out how to open the clasp but eventually worked it out. On getting it home I opened the bag and had another look. On opening the clasp it quite literally fell apart in my hands and looking at it in pieces it was quite obvious that the joints had been broken before as they were clearly bent and simply squeezed together, one or two uses and it would simply go again. The necklace was not marked ‘as found’ or anything else that would lead me to look for such a fault.
Next day I called the Centre and initially was told that I could probably return it the next day, I would however need to speak to the manager who would call me back. He didn’t. The next day I called again and was told very clearly that refunds were NEVER given and I should have noticed the damage before buying it. In tiny print on the receipt this is also said but at no point was this drawn to my attention prior to purchase. The implication was quite clear that I had broken the clasp myself and was trying to pull a fast one! I asked to be put in touch with the dealer but was told it was not their policy to do so.
The man I spoke to was completely obstructive and more or less accused me of being a liar. Eventually he (said he was??), taking my name and contact details and would ask the dealer to contact me directly. He/she hasn’t. Needless to say I won’t be visiting the place again. Final comment. Before I visited this time I had looked at their website to check the satnav postcode. I noticed a number of poor reviews for customer service. I wish I had heeded those remarks!!
