Great day out but expensive
Raby Castle, Park And Gardens的点评
点评：Where do I start! Firstly I moaned about the cost to enter the garden,grounds and castle £42.00 for 2 people is a lot of money ….. BUT I would happily pay it again as we loved the visit so much!
You come into the beautifully landscaped gardens by the cafe which are stunning.
We arrived at midday and were very lucky to be able to join the garden walk round hosted by Clive ….. who was excellent!
1 1/2 hours touring the gardens looking at beautiful plants and trees and gaining fantastic knowledge - Clive was a superstar.
This really made the visit as we would have missed loads in the garden - that talk alone was worth the entrance fee.
We then went on to the castle and this was also excellent as there was a volunteer in most of the rooms giving you an overview of the room you were in - just excellent.
The cafe was nice but for us the cakes were disappointing (not our favourite).
That said we loved Raby Castle and gardens and it was worth the entrance fee.
This is by no means a cheap day out - entrance fee for 2, ice cream and tea and cake £65ish - so next time I’ll miss the tea & cake but still visit and have the ice cream.
