Great Snorkeling
恐龙湾自然保护区的点评
点评：What a beautiful spot to spend several hours snorkeling and sunbathing! The scenery is breath taking and access is very limited so it isn't very crowded--only 1000 people per day are allowed in the park! The water is clear and the wildlife abound! So many species of fish to observe and they are not shy of people--some will come right up and look you in the mask! We also got super lucky--a Hawaiian monk seal swam up onto the beach to rest after a night of hunting. There are only 1600 of these in the world! Lifeguards were very attentive to the seal and made sure no one messed with it--all the workers there are quite dedicated to preserving this area!
You can access it via car yourself, but I highly recommend using a tour company that guarantees access and will drive you there and pick you up. You may only spend about 4 hours there but that is enough is you use your time well--we snorkeled for about 3.5 hours in 20-30 minute sessions while resting 10-15 minutes in between and we saw so much and left exhausted! Tour companies will also provide gear and other amenities for the same prices the park does. It can be quite windy at times so umbrellas blow around badly--look out for those that aren't properly secured, they look like Hawaiian tumble weeds!
