点评:We pulled in here on spec and luckily, as it was slightly off season, there were still parking spaces at 10.20am on a Friday. The National Park guy controlling who went in, didn’t explain the set up well at all and at first we thought we were going to be paying $50 just to view the bay.
However, it turned out that parking was $3 (cash only!) then we queued at the visitor centre and paid $25 each for as long as we wanted down at the beach.A shuttle bus took us down and up (and you could use it as often as you wanted.)
It’s impossible to see the bay unless you pay to access it - the view is completely blocked off from the car park.
The beach was quite busy but just absolutely beautiful.Hired snorkelling gear for about $35 between us (I think - didn’t bother with fins) and found some shade for our stuff.
It was like something from Blue Planet, even not that far out.Best for fish was directly out from the volunteers centre/lifeguard station.Water was crystal clear.Amazing, exotic fish, loads of them too.
A Monk Seal had also come into the bay to rest.
We stayed for about 2hours and loved it.A holiday highlight of 2 weeks touring the island, as it turned out.
A great relief to be in this relatively unspoilt Nature Reserve area after the high rise (if glossy) built up beach of Waikiki.
