点评：I'm posting this review to counter some of the negative comments I've just read. My wife and I took our two eldest Grandchildren 7 years ago from Pickering to Whitby and back and had a wonderful time. Other things got in the way so we didn't return. Fast forward to 2024 I was looking at prices only a couple of months ago and found that if we join as members we get a 50% discount, not only that but our four Grandchildren go free so six of us travelled to Whitby and back for less than £50 ,our Grandchildren were fascinated with the steam locos and our eldest Granddaughter actually got to ride in the cab of 'Repton' if only for a couple of dozen yards but it really made her day. I guarantee we will be back several times this year. It's a wonderful experience not just for children but for parents and Grandparents alike. My advice to people wanting to go on the railway, plan in advance, you will find you can save money by becoming a member.
And finally, most of the staff are volunteers who don't get paid,they do it because, like my wife,myself and our Grandchildren, they love steam so please don't criticise if you haven't bothered to plan your day. That's your fault,not the fault of the NYRM.
