First time visit - snowdrop walk

点评：Visited for the advertised snowdrop walk. Signage could be improved a little on the roadside as we accidentally started to turn up the exit. It was a popular day for visitors - with a bit of a queue to get in along the drive sitting in the car - luckily this went down quite quickly. We were given a map which as first time visitors we appreciated. There was an art exhibition running on the day of our visit so it was nice to additionally browse that. We made our way firstly to the courtyard for food where there was quite a long wait outside queueing (in the rain at a point). I think it would be better to maybe have a seperate entry and exit for the cafe as customers and staff seemed to have to negotiate the queue blocking the single doorway while holding trays. The food/drinks arrived quickly and were really enjoyed - the coriander and carrot soup was especially delicious! Wish signage though would have been a little better - we sat outside in the courtyard with our dog, which was nice but rather busy and crowded with the shop and toilets nearby, but after eating we discovered a beautiful little eating area to the side that would have been magical to sit and a lot quieter. We enjoyed the walk around the gardens, stroll to the lake and the unique sculptures along the way. Lots of nice places to sit on route to take in the surroundings. It was sad to see some children and adults not respecting the environment and walking all over the little water feature for a photo opportunity. We were a little disappointed with the number of snowdrops and the gardens / walk wasn't as vast as we were perhaps hoping (our expectations). Overall, we did have a lovely few hours visit, reasonable value and would definitely visit again, but probably more biennially or if there was an extra event on.
