点评：Made a trip to Bamburgh specifically to see Bamburgh Castle’s “Treasured Tales” event. We were looking for something that kicked off the Christmas season for us, and found it absolutely magical. The state rooms have been done out beautifully to reflect a favourite tale from childhood, so the adults enjoyed it just as much as the kids in the group. The youngest in our group said “it was like being in a fairy tale”.
Bamburgh Castle must be one of the most majestic in terms of its scale and situation. Found it just as impressive inside as all the pictures we’d seen of the outside. It was a bitterly cold day but the staff were all friendly and helpful, and the warmth (and home-made goodies of the tearooms) were most welcome.
Finally, picked up some nice gifts in the shop, which had a great selection of local items. Is nice to see a gift shop with affordable “pocket money items” for the kids. We will definitely be back.
