WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre的点评
点评：We visited on a breezy August day - my two children (6 and 3) and my parents (concessions) - and we all were thoroughly impressed with the site. Due to poor planning on our part, we arrived at midday and went straight to have a picnic. Initially we were disappointed with the options for where we could eat (some dirty looking tables, to be expected around birds!) but we found a more sheltered area towards the otters. Thankfully we managed to catch the pond dipping before it closed at 1pm - this was my 6 year-old’s highlight of the day so be sure to catch it before it closes. My parents were really impressed with the wide variety of birds to view and enjoyed using the guidebook to identify what we saw as we walked around. The children loved the dragonfly hunt, spotting sculptures hidden around the park. There were so many areas for the children to play in and explore. The new paddle and play area was particularly busy which put my children off - but it would be lovely outwith school holidays. The minibeast area felt like a hidden gem and my children could paddle the entire length of the stream without anyone else around. We stayed until 4pm but would have easily spent another hour or more exploring - we didn’t manage to do any boat trips or see the otters - so we look forward to coming back again!
