点评:This schloss is a relatively short and easy (all flat) walk from the train station.
The outside is really impressive: it’s massive. There’s a pretty fountain in the courtyard.
Inside, the staircase is beautiful. There was a bride and groom getting wedding photos take on the stairs, and it’s easy to see why. The staircase is very grand looking.
There’s three, maybe four rooms that have been completely reconstructed after the bombings of WW II. The reconstructed rooms are gorgeous. Unfortunately, the rest of the rooms are rather plain. There is some nice furniture in them, though. In a few rooms, plaster mouldings were not redone after the war, but instead just painted. It did look a little strange to me. But I’m sure doing it that way is much cheaper and easier.
I did have to store my jacket and purse in a locker for my self-guided tour.
