Efficient Airport, Unacceptable Behavior by Hotel Staff at Arrivals

点评：The Athens Airport is modern, well-designed, and efficient, and all of my experiences had been good up until recently. But on Monday, July 7, 2025, while waiting for a relative to arrive from Toronto on an Air Transat flight at around 12:20 PM, I observed a disturbing incident.
On the lower level of the Arrivals section, a group of hotel employees—you know, those holding signs to meet guests—were openly bullying and harassing other people who were also waiting for arrivals. Their supposed reason was that others were blocking their view, though this was clearly not the case. One particularly aggressive woman who spoke with a Slavic accent, repeatedly yelled at people to move from where they were standing. When a young woman didn’t comply, this employee intentionally stood directly in front of her. When the young woman tried to reclaim her spot, the hotel employee loudly shouted, “Do not touch me,” as if she were the victim.
Even more troubling, there was a man from the same hotel group—visibly obese—telling the woman to “punch [the other woman] in the teeth.” Later, when a couple embraced in a spot the hotel staff didn’t approve of, they began mocking them loudly and publicly.
Why is this kind of behavior tolerated at the airport? These individuals were not only unprofessional but openly hostile. The hotel they represent should face serious consequences—either fines or removal from the premises. This is not the kind of atmosphere that travelers should see when they first arrive to Greece. Unfortunately, I don't have the name of the hotel but hopefully it becomes public by someone who saw or was victimized by that gang.
