Breathtaking Creatures in Natural Environments
北极公园的点评
点评：I visited Polar Park alone, utilising the Best Arctic bus service from Bardufoss, which brought us directly to the door and collected us again 3 hours later.
Most of the park is on a hill, so if you struggle in the snow, make sure you bring crampons with you. The first creature I came to was thr majestic lynx, stood about a metre from the front of his cage staring directly at me. I'm told he is the father and there is a son in the cage behind but I didn't see him.
I then saw a cute little deer having his lunch; he was partial to a little ear scratch. I then went down to the wild ox. Even though they were quite far back in their enclosure, their sheer size meant I could still see them clearly.
The reindeer weren't playing out but as I saw wild ones last week I wasn't too bothered about this. I then headed up to the wolverine which was highly entertaining bombing around its enclosure.
I didn't manage to see the wolves although I could hear them and the brown bears are obviously hibernating at the moment. Next I saw the arctic foxes which were gorgeous and so friendly. One of them came right up to the fence! The last creature I saw was a massive elk.
The gift shop offered a nice range including t-shirts, magnets, cuddly toys etc. There is also a cafe which does some lovely cakes and there are customer toilets.
This is a hidden gem which is well worth a visit, just don't expect to see all of the animals every time!
