A fantastic experience worth its weight in Salt!!

点评：What a uniquely wonderful experience we had yesterday at Tasman Sea Salt. Firstly Chris gave us a fascinating tour of the on-site factory perched right on the edge of the coast. The views were spectacular & Chris gave us not only a very informative tour & talk about all the processes but also about his & Alice’s journey with starting & growing the business to what it is today. The other workers we met there were also very friendly. Then we drove to the Mayfield Estate cellar door for the second part of the experience, a salt tasting. We were delighted to walk into a private room (with more stunning scenery outside) & be seated around a beautiful table. In front of each of us was our own slate platter with salt tastings paired with the most delicious little morsels of food prepared by Alice to enhance the salt experience. We had also taken up the option of paired wine tastings (sparkling, chardonnay, rose & pinot noir) at a small additional cost which we heartedly recommend. Alice was so engaging & informative about how each of the different salts enhanced different types of foods as well as the history of salt amongst ither things.
It was a truly unique & thoroughly enjoyable experience which we highly recommend that any foodie do.A big shout out to Chris & Alice for what they have achieved with this outstanding business. We are converts to salt……especially this wonderful Tassie enterprise.
