点评:The irony of our visit is that we first went to St Paul's Grotto, where you can already see some underground shelters and some tombs, and then before arriving here we stopped at Saint Agatha Catacombs across the street from here, just to see a sign on their window "tour in progress - will return in 20 minutes" that made us skip it and arrive to St Paul's because we didn't have to wait
And I think that was a mistake... as doing this all on yourself is pointless, there is no light inside as the electricity they have running there is so low that you can't read any of the info boards, and yet you are not allowed to use the flash/light... so you basically go inside these tombs and everything looks the same without really any further meaning - yet outside of each crypts' entrance there is a board with markings on where to go and what you should see... after 4-5 of them we just gave up and decided to head back to Mdina...
The only reason why I didn't give it the lowest rating is that the entrance to it first takes you through the room with some modern displays like museum, where you can read some interesting info - this is also the side where you acquire the tickets to enter the grounds (the tombs are on both sides).
If you have mobility issues skip this place as each catacomb requires narrow staircase to go through and then there are steps underground as well - also, we did it in "cold and slow January" - I can't imagine being in the hot and busy summer in these catacombs...
