点评:I visited Bear Hands Brewing this past Friday evening with friends. The place was busy — understandably so, as the whole area was packed that night. I joined what appeared to be an organized line at the bar, which I respected and waited in patiently.
After nearly 25 minutes, I finally reached the front of the line — only to be told by the male bartender to "shut my mouth" and wait while he served someone who had walked straight to the end of the bar, bypassing the line entirely. This wasn't an isolated incident; several people in line had noticed and commented on the same thing throughout the wait.
When I calmly asked what the purpose of the line was, if others could skip it and get served immediately, rather than acknowledge the valid concern, the bartender told me to be quiet or leave. When I pointed out that this wasn't a fair way to treat customers who had waited, I was thrown out.
I'm 60 years old and have never been asked to leave a place of business in my life. I've written maybe four reviews total in my lifetime — that should tell you something about how significant this experience was.
What struck me was the reaction of the other people in line. Every one of them told me they felt it was unfair and thanked me for speaking up. They felt the same way but didn't feel comfortable saying anything.
I understand that busy nights are stressful for bar staff, and I have no issue with the wait itself — that's expected on a Friday night. What's not acceptable is rewarding line-cutters while ignoring paying customers who did the right thing, and then responding to a reasonable question with rudeness and ejection.
I won't be returning, and frankly it won't matter to them either way. But I think it's worthwhile to share this experience. If you encounter the same treatment here, I'd encourage you to speak up — just be prepared to be shown the door.
