点评:James was our guide who was friendly and informative about the sugar pine loggers history. The trip through the forest is beautiful. We didn’t do this but saw it happening - the moonlit trip, and it looked and sounded fabulous. We didn’t book this and would do if we did it again. We didn’t book gold panning with Dennis - such a gentleman and again incredibly knowledgeable about the gold rush and told us all about the start and development of this era. He taught the kids how to pan for gold too - an excellent teacher, and they raved about it all the way home. Such a lovely place to have a go too - great atmosphere. We went to see another wonderful member of staff in the museum, I was told a great story about the ‘fire’ waterfall and chickens - I won’t ruin it, go and ask!
Loved the postcards and enjoyed looking at them but then we found out we could write on them and send them home! What a lovely touch and this was actually the first time my kids had written postcards! We really loved this.
Such an authentic and friendly place that goes the extra mile. Thank you.
PS If you can find James’ day off I would recommend hiring him for the day and asking him to plan your day. He is a lovely man with bags of personality and knows so much about the area. If you’re reading this James we followed your advise and had one of the best meals and milkshakes of our trip! Thank you.
