Lovely morning spent with a whole range of animals

点评：This isn’t a flashy soft play sort of children’s farm, so don’t expect that, but it has so many beautiful animals being taken care of by really caring and passionate people. Excellent cup of tea and lots of choice of food and soft drinks, we didn’t eat but the sausage baps looked lovely.
We went first thing on a Saturday and hadn’t booked in advance but they arranged for us to have a groom and feed with one of the donkeys (patch, really great guy) and we were introduced to so many more animals than I expected. Goats, alpacas, pigs (and little piglets!), rabbits (tiny babies there too), guinea pigs, and some very friendly cats. All the animals seemed really happy, we heard about Patch having been ridden in a local park for years with a heavy saddle on - so good to know he can spend the next part of his life munching on carrots and having ear scratches instead.
It’s a very down to earth sort of atmosphere which is exactly what I was looking for. I’m an adult without kids that just wanted to spend time with some animals, and was made to feel so comfortable and okay with that. These guys are developing their set up and have only been open for (I think) 18 months? And have some great plans, I have everything crossed that they get some well deserved funding to expand and develop.
We were told about the work they do hosting parent and toddler groups, and having groups of SEND/homeschooled young people round to spend time with and take care of the animals. I work with lots of neurodivergent young people and young people with mental health difficulties and know how much this would mean to them, if only we lived closer!
