点评:We stopped at the Spielzeug Welten Museum during our time in Basel and were genuinely charmed. With over 6,000 exhibits across four floors, it’s an incredible collection — the antique teddy bears alone (over 2,500 of them!) are worth the visit, but the historic dolls, dollhouses, and miniature toy grocery stores are just as captivating. You can really see the level of craftsmanship that went into these pieces; they were clearly made to be treasured, not mass-produced.
A nice touch was the handheld tablet viewer provided at the exhibits — you hold it up to the display cases and it brings the scenes to life with an interactive overlay, adding a fun layer of context without needing to bring your own device. We spent about 2-3hours there, which felt like just the right amount of time — enough to take it all in without feeling rushed. The museum is compact but immersive, and it has a warm, nostalgic feel that appealed to adults in our group just as much as it would to kids.
A lovely, unexpected highlight of our Basel stop — highly recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in toys, history, or craftsmanship.
