Great sparkling wine

点评：Went here for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary. The staff were friendly and the tour guide was excellent and very clear and informative and passionate about his wine. Not too much walking which was nice and after seeing the distillery the wine tasting took place upstairs in the barn, for which we tasted 3 still and 3 sparkling wines. The sparkling wines are recommended, the stills we tried weren't quite to my taste except for the Rose which was nice. It would have been nice to have a jug of water on each table to cleanse the palate after each tasting.
We had a buffet style ploughmans lunch which was nice and lunches normally come with a drink, but this one didn't you had to buy the wine, so again it would have been nice to have some water on the table.
Overall the tour was very good and informative and we did buy a box of sparkling that was on offer and feel was good value.
This is a family run farm so the driveway and the buildings are old and run down so don't expect Chapel Down or Gusbourne Estate, but the vines here were very green with lots of fruit and looked very healthy and you can see everyone works very hard here, so look at it at a glimpse of few hours of a small working farm, not a large commercial winery as others are, which in my view made our visit feel more personal.
