点评:Hands down, visiting the Sanctuary was my favourite activity whilst on the Isle of Wight for a few days.
The tickets are reasonably priced and all the staff we encountered were really friendly and happy to chat, ranging from the ticket booth, the cafe staff and the various zoo keepers we came across. Every zoo keeper was happy to stop and talk to you about the animals and give you some interesting facts about them!
The cafe has a selection of vegan foods and a good selection of drinks (hot and cold) and cakes. They actually made the best hot chocolate I’ve had for a while - I’d thoroughly recommend.
This is a sanctuary so all the animals have been rescued from horrific conditions. However all their enclosures are clean and spacious and they all have lots of toys to play with to keep them engaged.
We saw two of the tigers running around play fighting (with one even stalking her friend in the water before pouncing) and the two bears play fighting too! It honestly was magical and they looked like they were having a lot of fun. All the animals looked happy - which is nice to see after what they’ve all gone through.
I’d say this is a must do whilst on the island!
If you keep your ticket you can visit a second time for just £1, so we took full advantage of this and came back again the following day ❤️
