怀特岛动物园的点评
点评：There are loads of animals for kids and grown-ups of all ages to see and appreciate : the meerkats, monkeys, wallaby's, tigers, lions (the roar of one of them was incredible), servals, and bears were amazing : it was great to see the bears swimming and to get such a good view of them from up above on the wheelchair accessible glass-floor overlook. The walk-through of the lemur enclosure was also great, and there are also farm animals such as pigs and goats, tortoises and some reptiles.
It was really sad, but important, to learn about the appalling trafficking of some of the animals across Europe.
And, for history buffs, there's even a bit of the World War II fuel pumping station, used to pump petrol to Normandy to support the D Day landings.
Visited on a Tuesday morning early September and it really wasn't busy. We probably got round the site in 2 hours : you'll need more time if the kids want to stop at every monkey.
